The Turbulent Tide

It rained so heavily in winter time
That miracle beach was flooded.
And when life seemed to be drying out
Near the beach, water splashed the road-bed.

I stood in my balcony and kept on watching,
Until the tide, no more, threatened.
Then I closed in to see what had happened
And found out that a boy was missing.

His mother who was weeping
Had enough of salt;
Even her husband’s life
Had come to a halt.

The tide took two bodies
But gave back more –
Two dead dolphins,
A shark and a shore.
